{Review} Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder

The Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder has been around for decades. The price ranges from $4-$8 depending where you're located and which drugstores you go to. I've only been able to find this powder at my local Walgreens and CVS.

The packaging is plastic with a sifter inside... a huge improvement from the original packaging which was just cardboard.

The puff is useless. I use a kabuki brush with this powder.

- you get a lot of product
- a little goes a long way, so it'll last you forever
- doesn't give a cakey appearance (unless you put too much on)
- doesn't settle into my fine lines or pores

- not long lasting
- doesn't control oil

- scent doesn't bother me, but it may be overpowering to some and may irritate the skin if one is sensitive to these kind of things

Overall, the powder is a bargain for the price you pay; you get a lot of product and it's a decent setting powder.

Do I recommend this product? Only if you're looking for an affordable setting powder. I wouldn't recommend it for those with oily skin.

Would I repurchase? No. I prefer my MUFE HD setting powder.

{Review} Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters

The beauty world is buzzing about the new and permanent Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters. From what I was reading from this world, these lip butters are described as moisturizing, pigmented, and glossy; in a way, a best of all worlds. With all the hype, I was one of those people who were raiding through my local Rite Aid, Target, Walgreens, and CVS trying to get ahold of these suckers. It took a while to find them, but I bought my first two (Truffle Pink & Sugar Plum) a couple of weeks ago at Rite Aid for $7.49 each. And I bought my other three shades (Strawberry Shortcake, Candy Apple, & Berry Smoothie) at Target last week for $6-ish each. Red Velvet may be the "it" color from this collection since it's the only shade I see sold out on the displays (and everyone's talking about it!).

Frequently Used Products in September (2011)

In September, I turned 24 (link)! My younger brother's birthday was also in September... he would have been 22. I miss him so much. Anyway, with everything that has happened to me this year, all I can say is my goal is just to work hard, take care of myself, and live life to the fullest. Being healthy and living life itself is what I've always taken for granted... and I've changed my way of thinking ever since.

Above are the frequently used products I've used in September. I apologize for the stock photos, but there's no way I could take decent pictures with the crappy lighting the weather has been providing.

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. Foundation. It provides a sheer, matte, coverage, but makes my skin look so clean and polish. Be forewarned to make sure your skin is hydrated and moisturized before applying this foundation or it will either cake up or appear flakey.

ELF Flat Top brush. Brush. This product is very cheap ($3), but effective. It is perfect for foundation!

Chanel Rouge Coco Shine - Boy. Lipstick. This product is sheer, but oh so moisturizing! It provides a "my lips, but better" color which is perfect because it goes with everything! I want to buy more, but it is on the pricier side; definitely not good for the wallet.

Prestige My Blackest Lashes. Mascara. HG, HG, HG! I like it even better than the Benefit They're Real! Mascara which says a lot. It's easy to apply, separates my lashes, holds my curls, doesn't smudge, and doesn't give my lashes a spidery effect. The best part is my lashes doesn't brush onto my glasses! Perfect.

MAC Satin Taupe. Eyeshadow. This is a beautiful shadow that can either be used alone or as a combo. At night, I like to smudge black eyeliner on the lid and apply Satin Taupe over it to the crease area to achieve a smokey look.

Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer. Concealer. I mainly use this as an under-eye concealer and it really brightens the whole face! I usually don't set it with powder because it stays in place without any issues.

And that would be it for the month of September. Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Haul

Yesterday was the day I turned another year older. It's crazy how fast time flies.

The one thing I received this year was not beauty related, but it is the best present I have ever received!

A brand new car of my own! My parents-in-law made a generous down payment for me as a birthday gift. My husband and I are obviously paying the rest off.

It's seriously the new love of my life! =)

Sephora & MAC Haul

I don't know why I am always drawn to limited edition palettes. Is it the hype? Is it the packaging? Is it because they're unattainable after they're gone? Who knows? Maybe it's all the above.

Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette - the packaging is impractical, but the eyeshadows are to die for!

Tarte for True Blood palette - I think the main reason why I bought this is because of my love for True Blood. The packaging and colors look lovely, but I haven't had the chance to test these shadows yet.

Also included:
- eyeshadow primer
- lights, camera, lashes mascara
- eyeliner

Since my husband and I went to Gilroy Outlets, I decided to stop by the CCO. I was a little disappointed with the selection of makeup they had, but I did pick up one thing:
MAC Cocomotion pigment

That concludes my haul. I've finally caught up with all of my purchases, so what you can expect soon are product reviews!

I stopped by TJ MAXX the other day in hope of finding a nice pair of shoes for work. I didn't have any luck in that department, but I did find some steals!

Who would ever thought you'd find The Balm products at TJ MAXX?

When I first saw the Shady Lady Vol. 2 palette, the first thing I did was look at the price tag. It was 50% off the retail price! Surely, I couldn't just put the palette back down...

The Balm and the Beautiful palette was too unique to give up (at least the packaging was). It was also the last one, so it made it that much more desirable!

From QVC, I purchased the Glow Your Way to Gorgeous Kit. This set is great for minimalists!

This set includes:
- Lip Pencil - shade: Sweet
- Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara
- Concealer - shade: Medium
- Pencil Sharpener
- Waterproof Liner - shade: Fig
- Cream Shadow - shade: Shimmering Taupe
- AC Blush - shade: Peaceful

Not pictured:
- blush brush
- shadow brush

I was surprised to see these included in the package:
- Pure Maracuja Oil
- Park Ave Princess Bronzer (deluxe sample size)

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchases. I'll probably stop buying eyeshadows for a while, but it's all good. =)

Sleek Makeup Haul

I have always been interested in Sleek Makeup products, but the expensive shipping fee always made it harder for me to pull the trigger. Sometime in the month of August, I received an email stating that US costumers will receive free shipping if they spend $75 or more. Well, that was easy!

Let's start with the cheek & lip products:
From left to right:
- Life's a Peach
- Rose Gold
- Flamingo
- Pout Polish - Powder Pink
- Face Contour Kit - Medium

life's a peach, rose gold, flamingo, face contour kit (contour & highlight shade)
lip pout: powder pink

Next are the eyeshadow palettes. These palettes are so "sleek," chic, and compact!

Oh So Special

Out of all the products I bought, the pout polish is my least favorite purchase. I don't know why I keep insisting on buying these kind of products when I have never really enjoyed using any of the ones I have owned, but I keep hoping that the one I buy would be different. *shrugs*

The "Oh So Special" palette is probably my favorite product that I purchased. If I were to travel tomorrow, I would be able to just bring and use this palette alone.

Have you tried any Sleek products? What are your favorite products from them?

Chanel Haul

I have been working really hard lately, so I decided to spoil myself with Chanel. I bought these products sometime last week.

The boxes are so sophisticated and chic.

- Chanel Recourbe Cils De Chanel Precision Eyelash Curler (LE) - This fits my eye-shape a little better than the Shu Uemura eyelash curler.
- Chanal Vitalumiere Aqua (shade B30) - I am really loving this foundation so far!
- Chanel Le Vernis Nail Color (Paradoxal) - I haven't had the chance to try this yet, but the color is to die for.

My wallet hates me, but I am very content with my purchases. What are your favorite products from Chanel?

{Review} Too Faced Matte Eyeshadow Palette

When Too Faced released their Matte Eyeshadow Palette, I lusted for it, but was hesitant to buy it. Good quality matte shadows are hard to find. Usually, the ones I've tried (from high-end to low-end) are either chalky or hard to work with (ie: hard to blend, won't go on evenly, etc.). When I spotted this palette at my local Sephora and finally got the chance to swatch the colors, I didn't just want the palette... I needed it!

From left to right:
- Tufted Suede is a lovely soft tan. It works well as an all over color or as a highlight.
- Chinchilla is a soft warm brown. It's perfect for the crease or as a transition/blending color.
- Coffee Bean is a nice dark brown. I usually use it for the outer-v or smoke it out in the crease on a night out.
- Velveteen Bunny is an ivory color. It really brightens up my eyes when I apply it on my inner tear duct.
- Pebbles is gray.
- London Fog is a blackish blue. I'm not too fond of it.
- Fresh Linen is a soft pink.
- Vintage Violet is a dusty violet.
- Midnight is a charcoal gray.

Unfortunately, I didn't have good lighting when I took this picture. It really doesn't do them justice.

With flash:

These eyeshadows are phenomenal! They go so well together and are not chalky! How often can you say that about an all matte palette?! Probably not much since there aren't that many matte palettes around, but still. You can go for a soft classic or natural look or you can go smokey without all that shimmers and glitters. Although I usually mix my finishes when applying eyeshadows, I can use the palette itself without looking flat. This is my favorite Too Faced palette that I own.

{Review} Tarte Amazonian Clay Blushes

Last month (August 2011), Tarte had their 30% off Friends and Family Sale. 30% off plus a free natural lip sheer/balm and free shipping over $40? Of course I couldn't turn down this great offer!

I had the opportunity to buy all the Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes I didn't own. You probably think I'm crazy for that, but these blushes are that amazing.

From left to right:
- Tipsy is a pretty peach.
- Amused is a bright pink.
- Blushing Bride is a plum.
- Natural Beauty is a pink red.
- Flush is a berry.

These blushes are amazingly pigmented! The textures are so easy to work with and the wear of these are endless. I never have to worry about my blush fading in the middle of the day like I do with other blushes.

And to make my collection complete, I'll add the three I already owned at the time:

- Exposed is a nude soft brown.
- Blissful is a warm coral.
- Dollface is a pale pink.
~ I also own Peaceful, but I'm only posting about permanent colors.

Out of all the Tarte Amazonian blushes, exposed is what I use religiously. It's the color I use whenever I'm in doubt because it goes with practically everything.

I highly recommend checking these out if you haven't done so. They may be on the pricey side, but a little goes a long way, so you do get your money's worth. I am sure there is a color out there for everyone.

Products I've Used Up/Tossed ~ August, 2011

I know I'm not the only person in this world who feels ecstatic when he or she hits pan or uses up a product! Well, at least I hope not. Anyway, here are the products I've used up so far:

1. The Body Shop - Vitamin E Body Butter
2. Lavanila Laboratories - The Healthy Deodorant
3. Covergirl LastBlast Fusion Mascara

I am on my 6th body butter this year. This is the only body lotion/butter I've used on my body since the end of 2009! HG material? Yes, yes, yes!

Will I Repurchase? Yes!

I've used it up as much as I can, but I just can't do it anymore. If you take a look at the top left on this picture, you'll see that there's not much left... but it just doesn't work for me; it never has! I'll stick with my drugstore deodorant, thank you very much.

Will I Repurchase? No!

This is one of my favorite mascaras! It separates, holds my curls, and looks very natural! To be honest, I do not see a difference between Lash Blast & LashBlast Fusion... It all pretty much comes down to which color tube you'd prefer.

Will I Repurchase? Yes, but not right now. I have too many mascaras I have to go through.
