Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year Collector's Edition Set

When I saw this set available on the Sephora website, I knew I had to have it. I'm usually not into colors, but for some reason, I was really attracted to this collection.

United by a passion for color, Sephora and Pantone combine their expertise to become beauty's leading authority on color. Sharing an affection for how color can transform a face, mood, or even an attitude, this breakthrough beauty partnership will change how you wear, feel and think about color. You'll be introduced to playful shades that will inspire experimentation and exhilarating new products you'll impulsively want to sweep on. It will reawaken and reinvigorate your own passion for color—or ignite a newfound love. Join us in celebrating Color of the Year: Tangerine Tango!

Aren't they beautiful?

Tangerine Tango Twist eyeliner. I'm not sure how I feel about wearing an orange liner, but when I swatched this on my arm, the pigmentation and staying power was outstanding. It took a lot of effort to remove.

Eyeshadow Quad: Sparrow, Pavement, Scallop Shell, Carnelian

Prima Chrome Blush: Apricot Brandy

Blush Duo: Desert Flower & Coral

Tangerine Tango lipstick

Tangerine Tango lipgloss

Overall, I am very content with my purchase! I love using orange/coral colors in the spring and summertime, so this collection came out with perfect timing.

Thanks for stopping by!

Three Year Wedding Anniversary: Gifts From My Dear Husband.

My husband and I had our lovely 3 year wedding anniversary celebration two weeks ago. Here are the gifts he surprised me with:

Longchamp medium tote bag. I have a large one that I'm in love with, but can't use on a daily basis because it's way too big. This medium size bag is perfect for day to day! The picture doesn't do it justice.

He then surprised me with a Sephora package (and some other things) last week:
Shiseido Facial Cotton pads. These are my favorite. =)

DDF Aloe Toning Complex. My skin has been unpredictable lately, so all of my toners have been burning my skin. I hope this one will work out.

Real Techniques blush brush. Every time I stop by Ulta, I always stop by the brush section to look at these brushes.

Sephora + Pantone Universe Tangerine Tango lipstick (2). He thought I might want a backup before it's sold out.

Here's what the tube looks like.

Essence Creamy Nude lipstick. Whenever I'm at Ulta, I always try to find this shade, but it's always either sold out or have been molested.

Left to Right: Essence Creamy Nude and Sephora + Pantone Tangerine Tango

On my lips:
Essence Creamy Nude

Sephora + Pantone Universe Tangerine Tango

He is so sweet and thoughtful! There were times when I talked to him about wanting to try out some products, but I never thought he paid that close of attention; I was talking to him for the sake of talking about it... like a friend! Everything was such a wonderful surprise. =)

{Review} Stila In The Light Palette

I bought this Stila In the Light Palette on a whim a couple of months ago at Sephora because I'm just the type of girl that cannot get enough of her neutrals. I don't know what it is, but I'm always thinking, "but this is a different neutral palette." It wasn't much of a justification then, but it sure made sense at the time.

The new In The Light Eye Shadow Palette is a beautiful collection of Stila's award-winning Eye Shadows in wearable, neutral shades for every skintone that can be worn wet or dry. The palette also includes an exclusive Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Damsel, a matte chocolate brown, and an eight-page lookbook with detailed how-to tips and tricks.

What it looks like inside.

Bare- matte ivory
Kitten - shimmering champagne
Bliss - matte light brown
Sunset- shimmery copper
Sandstone - matte neutral brown

Champagne - pale gold shimmer
Gilded Gold - bronze with gold shimmer
Luster - deep gray with gold shimmer
Night Sky- slate blue with silver shimmer
Ebony - matte black

Eyeliner swatch: Damsel - a matte chocolate brown

- the palette is very lightweight

- the packaging feels cheap
- it's cardboard and doesn't shut properly, so I'd be afraid to bring it with me to travel unless I secure it with some rubber-bands
- some shadows are chalky
- majority of the shadows are crumbly
- *lots and lots of fallout

*I noticed that there's much less fallout when I use the foil method, but it's not one of my favorite ways to apply eyeshadow.

For $39, I could have gotten a lot of better eyeshadow palettes at the drugstore. The quality of these Stila shadows are mediocre and I'm really disappointed. Save your money or invest in a better eyeshadow palette like Urban Decay Naked (either original or 2) or the Kat Von D Saint palette!

Will I repurchase? No.

I am so disappointed and underwhelmed... However, I decided to give MyGlam one more chance before I cancel my subscription. Once again, here's hoping for a better glam bag next month!

Another Haul. Pt 2

Hello, hello, hello! This is the second part of my haul.

MAC Paint Pots: Constructivist and Rubenesque. For some odd reason, I wanted to buy these paint pots before I went on Project 10 Pan. No regrets... they're beautiful!

Skincare items recommended by my esthetician:
- Tend Skin. This is actually a backup since my current bottle is running low. This product helps me prevent ingrown hair.
Jan Marini Bioglycolic Face Cleanser. This is a backup as well since my current one is running low.
Eminence Organic Skin Care - Stone Crop Whip Moisturizer. I've talked about it here.

Since I didn't like the Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation I posted about on my last post, I decided to stop by Sephora to exchange it for things I knew I would like. Reasons why I didn't like the foundation: it provided absolutely no coverage and didn't even even out my skin-tone. I felt like I was just applying moisturizer.
- Smith's Minted Rose Lip Balm
- NARS Lhasa eyeshadow
- Buxom Stay-There Eyeshadow in Pug
Lhasa & Pug look gorgeous together!

Skinfood Salmon Dark Circle Concealer Cream in #2. I've only used this once so far, but I think I may have found an under-eye concealer that I'm really fond of. I'll be sure to provide updates asap.

Maybelline Color Tattoo - Pomegranate Punk. I never thought I'd buy this color, but the swatches look beautiful online. Plus I've been really into cream shadows lately, so I went with my gut feelings.

L'oreal Infallible Shadow - Amber Rush. I decided to buy it to feed my lemmings.

And that would be it for my haul! Expect a post about my Project 10 Pan soon!

Another Haul. Pt 1

I know I shouldn't have... but I did!

Bioderma Crealine H20 Solution 500ml (x2). This makeup remover has been raved about all over the beauty world, but the downside is that they're not sold in the US and there are a plethora of fakes on Ebay and Amazon. When I read there was a legit website that sold these on a makeup board, I couldn't resist.

Einstein Lip Therapy (x10). Xsunshiine raves about these all the time. I like it not only because of the minty and refreshing feeling it gives my lips, but because it's not too creamy or balmy (if that makes sense). Plus everyone that I've given some to has been liking them so far! I bought the set on ebay in case you're wondering.

Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette. I'm still on the hunt of a concealer that I can call my love... I've heard many great things about this palette though, so we'll see how it goes.

Josie Maran Argan Matchmaker Serum Foundation. I probably should have asked for a sample first, but my husband kept encouraging me to buy it since I've been having problems with my foundations. I'll probably do a review on this foundation in a couple of weeks.

Benefit Hervana. I wasn't planning on purchasing this blush, but after seeing Christine's post (link), I knew I had to have it!

Sephora by OPI - Nonfat Soy Half Caff. It's a beautiful nude color.

Stila Prime Pot - Taffy. This was actually a 100 point Beauty Insider perk; I've been curious about this primer since it was released, so I'm excited to test it out.

And that would be it for Part 1! Part 2 will be posted shortly.

Thank you for stopping by!

In & Out - February, 2012

- Filed 2011 taxes. The hubby and I filed our 2011 taxes with the help of (not really help; she did all the work) our tax preparer. We just have to send in our payment and everything will be squared away.

- New iPod Nano. The hubby got this for me a few days before Valentine's Day (which is a day we don't celebrate, fyi). So why did he buy it for me? Driving home from work during traffic hour is a huge pain in the butt. It makes it even worse when the radio stations you listen to repeat what feels like 3 popular songs over and over again. Songs that I used to enjoy are now overplayed and annoying... My car has a USB slot, so this beautiful red Nano is really meant for my drives.

- Surprise ballon animal. The hubby surprised me with this adorable penguin when I was waiting for my drink at Jamba Juice. He is too sweet.

- My new baby cousin. My cousin's wife gave birth to this beautiful baby girl on Valentine's Day! I am so excited and blessed to be a part of her life.

left bracelet is a gift from my husband; right bracelet is a gift from my mother-in-law

Unique Jewelry. They're unique to me, anyway! I received these bracelets in Sacramento and I cannot get over how cool these are. I've been wearing them (not at once) on a daily basis.

- Gas prices has spiked up lately. And that pretty much says it all.

What about you? What were your ins and outs of February?

Thanks for stopping by!
