Sweet Package from Carol (kusanagigirlbeautyblog)

First off, I would like to apologize for being so inactive this week! I got caught up with a few things, so I haven't had the time to log in.

Here is a sweet package I received from Carol (link)! Please stop by her blog if you haven't done so already! Her reviews are very well written and informative.

Elta Tar
I've been suffering from hand eczema and this product has definitely been one of the products to help ease the itchiness of my skin. I'll update you all about this whenever I can.

Envie De Neuf - Hyaluronic Acid Whitening Hydromasks
I can't wait to give these a try!

I would like to take this time to thank Carol for this lovely package! It was just so sweet of you and I really appreciate it. =)

I was having a really bad week, so I decided to stop by MAC & Ulta for a pick me up.

MAC Modern Pewter Extra Dimension Eyeshadow - I've been wanting this shade since it came out and when they still had some at the counter, I knew it was meant to be.

Essie Nail Polishes:  Who is the Boss and Love & Acceptance

Real Techniques Stippling Brush - I've heard nothing but great things about this brush.

And that's it for my mini pick me up haul. Thanks for stopping by!

MyGlam Bag - April, 2012

This month's theme bag is Girls' Night Out:

Metallic Pink Makeup Bag - I personally think it's ugly, but it'll be a useful pencil/pen holder.

All-Belle false eyelashes

DermStore Lip Quench

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil - Junkie

MyGlam All-Over Eyeshadow Brush and Eyeliner Brush

I can't say I'm disappointed because this bag is a lot better than the last two bags I received, but I can't say I'm satisfied either. I guess I'll be keeping my subscription... only time will tell!

Thanks for stopping by!

MAC
- Copperplate eyeshadow
- Fast Response Eye Cream - I'm running low on my current tube

{Review} Bobbi Brown Corrector & Concealer

I bought my Bobbi Brown Corrector & Concealer one year ago when I was on the lookout for a great under-eye product that would help me look more awake and lively. I figured I couldn't go wrong with the two since they were really well loved and well known by most beauty junkies. However, like most overhyped products, just because items work on almost everyone who has talked about it, doesn't exactly mean it'll work out the same way for you (or me in this case).

Corrector: A wakeup call for tired eyes. Corrector is pink- or peach-based to neutralize under-eye darkness and is designed to be used before Creamy Concealer. New and improved formula is long-wearing and brightens dark circles with quick, just-right coverage that's easy to blend and won't crease. And since great makeup starts with healthy skin, Corrector is infused with skin conditioners to protect the delicate under-eye area.

Concealer: Bobbi's secret to looking fresh and well-rested: a yellow-based concealer that instantly camouflages dark circles. Bobbi's long-wearing Creamy Concealer gives you quick, just-right coverage. The new and improved formula is richer and creamier, so it goes on easy, blends smoothly and stays put. Plus it's infused with skin conditioners to protect the delicate under-eye area. Your ideal shade of Creamy Concealer is one shade lighter than your foundation.

PROS:
- the corrector does a great job correcting my under-eye circles

CONS:
- thick, heavy, & waxy texture
- settles in & emphasizes fine lines
- looks cakey majority of the time no matter how I applied it
- creases
- hard to blend & smooth out even if I use my fingers to warm up the product
- very little lasting power even though I set them both with powder

Overall, I am not impressed. My MAC Select Moisturecover concealer does a better job correcting my dark circles and it's even cheaper than the two mentioned.

Will I repurchase? Definitely no.

MAC Haul: Reel Sexy, Très Cheek, & In Extra Dimension

I haven't kept up with MAC collections in over a year, but when I read about Très Cheek on Temptalia, I couldn't resist... I simply love blushes!

From Reel Sexy: Pink Cult, from Très Cheek: Immortal Flower & Modern Madarin, and from In Extra Dimension: Superb Skinfinish/Highlighter

- Immortal Flower is a soft peach.
- Pink Cult is a slightly cool neutral pink. I missed it the last time it was released, so I'm extremely excited to own it now.
- Modern Mandarin is a muted orange.

Superb Extra Dimension Skinfinish is a champagne with a metallic sheen. After reading Temptalia's post (link) about her not being able to spot the differences between this product and Estee Lauder's Modern Mercury, I decided to buy two (one for backup).

Swatches:

If you're thinking about buying any of the blushes from the new collections, I recommend not walking, but running to your nearest counter/store. They are selling out quickly!

{Review} Bioderma Crealine H20 Solution

Bioderma Crealine H20 Solution is a makeup remover that has been hyped and raved about all over the beauty world.
- Crealine H2O is a micellar solution that gently cleans and removes, through an original process for soil micro-emulsion, sensitive skin, fragile and thin with some mild redness in the cheeks.
- Very nice to use and a very high tolerance Crealine H2O decongest, soothe and prevent irritation sensations often associated with cleaning.
- Formula Crealine H2O guarantees respect for the balance hydrolipidic skin.

Directions: Crealine H2O is an ultra-gentle cleansing formula, use it with infinite gentleness. Soak a cotton Crealine H2O and clean and / or remove makeup your face and eyes. Repeat application until cotton is clean.
Crealine H2O can be used without rinsing. However, it is imperative to dry your skin. Drying should remain delicate. Dab your face with a clean cotton towel. Crealine H2O can be used daily, morning and evening.

PROS:
- gentle for face; you won't have to rub or tug
- doesn't break out my skin
- doesn't make my skin feel oily or leave any residue like other removers

CONS:
- lost a lot more eyelashes with this than others
- eyelids dried up... it became itchy and flakey which made it impossible for me to wear eye makeup for a while
- takes a lot of effort to remove waterproof eyeliner & mascara (even though I held a soaked cotton pad over my eyes for a minute or so)
- depending on the condition of my skin, this product can be very drying

Other things you should know:
- it doesn't have a scent
- it has a water-based consistency
- it doesn't deep clean your skin, so be sure to cleanse your face and do your usual skincare routine afterwards
- not available in the States. Try avoiding ebay/amazon unless you know for sure that the seller is selling authentic items. I can tell you from experience that just because a seller has thousands of positive feedback doesn't mean they sell the real deal; a lot of consumers can't tell the difference. I bought a pack of two (500ml) for $58.95 at frenchcosmetics.net.
- I use this product in conjunction with my Shiseido cotton pads and so far, I find that the combination best to work with. I've tried using other cotton pads (like Kirkland & other brands you can find at the drugstore), but I found them too irritating for my skin. The Shiseido ones are high-quality and gentle.

The Crealine H2O Solution is not good for waterproof makeup. By the time I've removed my waterproof mascara and eyeliner, my eyelids were red and irritated; it took over a week for my eyelids to look and feel the same again.

I wouldn't recommend this makeup remover if you have dry skin. On days when my skin felt dehydrated, I noticed dry patches immediately after using this product.

Due to the negative experience this remover has brought on my eyes, I now use this to remove my face makeup. Please beware if you have sensitive eyes like I do!

Will I repurchase? No. After I finish my two bottles, I plan to repurchase my Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm which removes everything effortlessly!

If you would like to see a demo, please continue...

Frequently Used Products & Products I've Used Up/Tossed ~ March, 2012

Here are the frequently used products I've been enjoying in March:

Beauty Blender. This sponge applies foundation and concealer flawlessly! Love, love, and love!

Sigma E05 brush & Bobbi Brown Black Ink liner. I usually don't wear liner because it takes a lot of time for me to apply. However, there's something about this brush that makes it so quick and easy! I've forgotten how much more put together my eyes look with liner.

Eyeshadow Combo: UD Buck & UD Hustle, Buxom Pug, NARS Lhasa, and WnW Brulee. I use Pug & Lhasa on the lid, Buck on the crease, Hustle to darken up the outer v, and Brulee on the brow bone.

Benefit Hervana. The color of this blush is lovely!

MAC Syrup. One of my favorite my lips, but better shades.

Vaseline. I've been applying vaseline on my knuckles on a daily basis and it's been helping with the dryness.

Swatches:

Products I've used up/tossed:
Jack Black Lip Balms - Black Tea & Blackberry and Grapefruit & Ginger. These lip balms killed my lips. I know it sounds like I'm exaggerating, but I'm not. Before I used these two scents, my lips were moisturized on their own... I still used my Vanilla & Lavender scent as a night treatment, but I never had to really bother putting anything during the day. After trying out these two scents, my lips are now itchy, dry, and patchy if I don't have any lip balm on. Maybe I bought a bad batch, but I only plan to buy the Vanilla & Lavender scent from now on.

Jan Marini Bioglycolic Face Cleanser. This cleanser has lasted me 4 months! I've been satisfied with it so far, so I'm happy that I have a backup.

In & Out - March, 2012

{IN}
- Girl Scout Cookies. I love, love, and love Girl Scout cookies! My husband surprised me with 5 boxes of Samoas the other day (it's always good to have backups since they're not sold all year round) and I can't get enough of them! Don't worry, I only eat three cookies a day. =)

- Working out. The hubby and I have been waking up at 3:30am to go to the gym. Since we're always tired when we get home from work in the evening, we figured waking up super early in the morning will solve the problem. It's still hard for me to get up once in a while, but it's so worth it after the workout.

- My new wallet. I've been using the same Coach wallet from my 'what's in my purse' post (link) for a couple of years now. I was tired of the logos, so I decided to go for a plain zip-around wallet from Michael Kors. Unfortunately, they were sold out with the black one, but the brown one is just as nice. This wallet was very well made, so I'm quite content with it.

- Our three year wedding anniversary. When they said time flies by when you're in your twenties, they weren't kidding. The hubby and I have been together for 8 years (9 in July) and married for 3... It only seems like yesterday when we went steady in high school... although I will say it's a lot better now since a lot of people have finally looked pass our racial differences.

{OUT}
 - Compulsive makeup shopping. I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a problem with makeup shopping. It's only the forth month of the year and I'm already hesitant to count how much money I've spent on makeup this year. I will be posting a Project Downsize soon... which is better for me since I can start focusing on what I have and start reviewing products instead of posting hauls all the time.
