Sephora & Walgreens Haul

Hi, again! I apologize for the lack of posts. School has pretty much taken over my life and I just haven't had the time to get my reviews together. Hopefully, I'll be a lot more active after midterms.

Make Up For Ever | Aqua Rouge - Shade 9
It appears bright in picture, but it's actually quite dark - very dark. After swatching all of the shades on my hand, number 9 looked like it fitted me the most. However, the dark vampy red is a little too much for me. I plan to go back to Sephora this weekend to either exchange it to a my lips, but better shade if I can find one, or probably just exchange it for another product... It's amazing though! It's waterproof and doesn't transfer once it dries.

A messy lip swatch:

Shiseido | Facial Cotton Pads
I will never be able to go back to regular cotton pads. They're amazingly soft and seriously the best ones I've ever used.

Sephora | Professionnel Brushes (15 & 45)
They were on sale. I couldn't resist!

Fresh | Sugar Kisses Mini Lip Duo
Oh, the perks of being a Beauty Insider around your birthday!

Milani | Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Eye Liner
I'm always looking for a good liquid eyeliner, so I figured I'd give this one a try.

ELF | Disney Villainous Villain Palettes
There were a total of three palettes, but only two caught my eye: Cruella Evil Everyday Eyes & Maleficent Sinister Smoky Eyes.

A look inside Cruella's book:

A look inside Maleficent's book:

Now... do I think they're worth $10 each? Definitely not... but they're crazy cute! I only recommend getting these if you're a collector.

That would be it for my haul. Thanks for stopping by!

Sephora Haul

Why hello there. I hope life is treating you all well! School has been a little hectic for me and I'm still trying to get the hang of it. It's been difficult for me to balance school, work, spending time with my husband, and spending time with my family because of all the papers and studying I've been doing, but it's nice to have that support and understanding (especially from the hubby) that school has to be on top of my priority list!

Anyway, here are the things I purchased from Sephora. Some products were bought in store and the others were bought online.

In Store:
Clarisonic Brush Head | Deep Pore Cleansing
I decided to try a different brush since I've been using the sensitive head brush for so long that it feels like it no longer benefits my skin. I'm really glad I made this change because this brush head is amazing! It deep cleans so well and my skin has been looking a lot more fresh and radiant.

Make Up For Ever | Duo Mat Powder Foundation
I was looking for a powder with decent coverage to set my foundation and touch up throughout the day. I usually touch up with a translucent powder, but sometimes, my skin absorbs foundation to the point where it comes off looking a little patchy. This powder has been doing a great job with keeping it to a minimum.

YSL | Rouge Pur Couture - 13 Le Orange
Love, love, love, love, and love this lipstick! I own a Rouge Volupte lipstick (shade #2) and find it too drying, but this lipstick is moisturizing and pigmented! I highly recommend this shade if you're into bright lipsticks!

Donna Karan | Cashmere Mist Deodorant
This deodorant gets a lot of love on youtube, so I couldn't resist when I saw this at the checkout stand. It has a pleasant scent and stays on the whole day.

Beauty Insider 500 Points Perk | Essential Glow Set
I was excited about this one! I haven't had time to play around with it just yet, but the set comes with 7 deluxe-sized samples.

Sephora | Make Up Artist Brush Belt Set
I've been wanting this brush set forever, but could never bring myself to buy it because $275 is too much for a set of brushes (for me, anyway). This wonderful set is now on sale for $99! If you've been interested in this brush set (link), now is the time to get it! It might be too late if you hesitate.

Too Faced | Borderline Smoothing, Anti-Feathering Lip Pencil
I needed a good lip liner for my bright lipsticks.

Beauty Insider 500 Points Perk | Laura Mercier Flawless Color Shimmer, Shadow, & Shine Set
I was a little underwhelmed with this set, to be honest.

100 Point Perk & Samples
I forgot all about the Clean deodorant (100 Point Perk) when I bought the Donna Karan one. Oh well, it doesn't hurt to see if it'll work out for me or not.

And that would be it for my haul. Thanks for stopping by!

Products I've Used Up/Tossed - July & August, 2012

Hi everyone! These are the products that I've used up/tossed in the month of July & August:

Jan Marini Bioglycolic Face Cleanser
My current favorite face wash. I've already repurchased.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunblock SPF 55
I've only started using sun protection on a regular basis starting June of this year. I know, I know... shame on me! I don't like using this on my face, but I love it for my body. I never feel the sun piercing heat into my skin anymore, so that's a good thing. I've already repurchased!

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment
One of my favorite lip balms! It's super moisturizing and it's done wonders to my dry lips! I'm holding off on repurchasing because it's my birthday month and the Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday Gift is the Fresh Mini Lip Duo.

Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! Mascara
This mascara dried a little too quickly for me. Other than that, it's an ok mascara. It separates, lengthens, and holds my curls all right, but it smudged on me after a couple of hours. I don't plan on repurchasing this.

Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash
One of my favorite mascaras! It's very dramatic, but I love how my lashes stand out whenever I use this mascara. I plan to repurchase in the future after I finish using all of my other tubes up.

Prestige My Blackest Lashes
I really liked this mascara when I first purchased it, but it started smudging and flaking on me after a while. If I don't mind cleaning up every so often during the day, it volumizes, lengthens, and defines my lashes really well... but I don't like to have to check the mirror every hour, so it's not worth it to me. I don't plan to repurchase this product.

Clarisonic Brush Head - Sensitive
I'm usually good at replacing my brush head every 3 months, but for some reason, I lost track of time with this one. I can't begin to express how much my beloved Clarisonic Mia has changed my skin for the better! If I had to purchase one product over and over again, it would be the Clarisonic! I, of course, repurchased the brush head, but I decided to try a different one: the deep pore.

Thanks for stopping by!

Catch Up Haul - Part 2.

Hello everyone! I hope you're all having a great week so far. Here is the 2nd part of my catch-up haul!

From Sephora:
L'Occitane Hand Cream - Travel Size
I don't think I could ever be without this hand cream! Since the full-size is too big, I bought the travel-size for my purse.

L'Occitane Lip Balm
Since I love their hand cream so much, I figured I'd give their lip balm a try. I didn't like it so much at first, but after I used up the first layer, the texture became very soft and creamy.

Tarte smolderEYES Amazonian Clay Waterproof Liner - Brown & Charcoal
I am very impressed with these liners! I gave up on liner a while ago because nothing seemed to stay put, but I'm very happy to say that these hang on tight without smudging or giving me raccoon eyes by the end of the day.

Lancome Rouge In Love Lipcolor - 230 Rouge Rendez-Vous
These lipsticks drew me to the Lancome stand. After swatching all the colors on my hand, I decided to go for Rouge Rendez-Vous which is a strong pinkish beige color. It's pigmented, moisturizing, and long-lasting... my kind of lipstick!

Swatch on my lips:

Lancome Rouge In Love Lipcolor - 200 Lasting Kiss
After using Rouge Rendez-Vous for two weeks, I decided to go back to Sephora to purchase another one. Lasting Kiss is a nude pinkish brown - my kind of my lips, but better shade.

From my favorite spa:
Jan Marini Bioglycolic Face Cleanser
This would be my third bottle of this cleanser. It's been working well for me, so there's no point for me to change my skincare routine.

From Hautelook:
theBalm Nude'tude Eyeshadow Palette
I know... the last thing I need is more eyeshadow palettes. I couldn't pass up a good deal!

theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer
This highlighter gets a lot of love from the beauty community, so when I saw that it was on sale for a good price, I bought it without any hesitation. I haven't had the chance to use either of theBalm products though... but I'll be sure to update about them if anyone's interested.

And that would be it for my catch-up haul! Thanks so much for stopping by!

In & Out ~ Late July & August, 2012

I haven't done one of these posts since March, but I felt the need to start doing these kinds of posts again. I know they're more personal than beauty related, but I think it adds a little flavor to my blog.

I got my very first pedicure done in late July and I think I'm addicted. My toenails were in bad shape until the pedicure and the skin on the bottom of my feet looks so much smoother. They look and feel so much healthier!

I've always wanted a tattoo, but let's face it: I'm way too fickle to have one. I change my mind as often as I change my clothes and purses, so the last thing I'd want is to do something I'd regret, especially something permanent. While my in-laws and I were at the Gilroy Garlic Festival, I thought it would be fun to get a henna tattoo. The owl wasn't my favorite, but it was the cutest design I saw available. I'm thankful that it already disappeared.

My mother-in-law is a childcare provider, so when she took her kids on a field trip, my husband and I decided to tag along. We went to the California Academy of Science and it was awesome! I highly recommend visiting the exhibit if you ever get the chance.

My husband surprised me with tickets to the Ringling Brothers And Barum & Bailey tickets. I've never seen a circus show before, so my husband thought it was something great Lfor us to do before I go back to school and become a hermit. It was so entertaining and I loved every minute of it.

I don't know why, but I love buying school supplies just as much as I love buying makeup. I was jumping with joy when the school year was crawling closer because that meant I finally had an excuse to buy notebooks and pens. Did I ever mention how much I love pens? I have a box full of them! lol.

This semester is actually my first semester back in school after a couple of years. Of course, I wouldn't be able to stay on top of things without a planner! I bought it off ebay and it's adorable!

I've never had crab cake before, but if they taste like the one I tried in the picture then it's my new favorite thing to eat. While at work, my supervisor told me he was stopping by a restaurant and asked me if I wanted anything. He showed me the menu and I saw a picture of the crab cake salad; it's freaking delicious! The crab cake is served with spinach, mango, tortilla chips, and chipotle dressing.

Last but not least is my beautiful iMac! It was a great investment and I know I'm going to be spending a lot more time on it when it's time to work on my assignments and papers.. which is unfortunately during my labor day weekend.

My poor car was hit on my first day of instruction. I was walking to the parking garage after my last class and I found my baby hurt and dented. It was hit on the back right side, so it's obvious whoever tried parking next to me failed and left (without leaving their information I might add). I've been using my husband's car while it's getting fixed in the shop, but I miss my car.

What were your Ins & Outs of August?

Thanks for stopping by!
