Happy Halloween! & Mini MAC Glamour Daze Haul.

Happy Halloween! I hope you're all having a great & safe one!

On another note, I stopped by my local MAC counter over the weekend to pick up a few things from the holiday collection:
MAC Extra Dimension Eyeshadow - Stolen Moment
These extra dimension shadows are a lot smaller than the extra dimension shadows from the past. These are the same size as their regular shadows... the past ones were the same size as the cream color bases. Stolen Moment is a beautiful plummy taupe shade!

MAC Cremesheen Lipstick - Glamourdaze (plus a backup)
This was actually the only reason why I stopped by the counter over the weekend. My wonderful husband went and purchased this shade for me last Friday. After I tried it, I instantly wanted a backup. It's a beautiful plummy red that will not only be perfect for fall, but all year round!

On my lips:

Swatches:
Glamourdaze swatched once on the left & heavily swatched beside. Stolen Moment swatched once & heavily swatched beside.

And that would be it for my haul! Thank you so much for stopping by!

{Review} Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation

When Urban Decay first released their Naked Skin foundation, there was no doubt in my mind that I had to give it a shot. Luckily for me, having a tan was a great excuse to go out and purchase one.

From Sephora.com:
A weightless and virtually invisible foundation that creates a luminous, demo-matte finish.

This formula helps skin achieve natural, illuminated and bright finish - like the beautiful skin you were born with. Naked skin is formulated with light-diffusing spheres, transforming you to look professionally retouched. Buildable coverage allows women to customize their look. This finish is matte, never flat, and luminous, but not shiny.

On my skin:

PROS:
- great pump control
- feels like you have nothing on; lightweight
- buildable coverage without looking cakey (if you're careful)
- soft matte finish
- looks like skin, but better!

CONS:
- wears off fast on oily areas (my nose)
- accentuate dry patches
- can get cakey if you're not careful (esp. around the nose area)

Photo with finished look:

Needless to say, the foundation has an appropriate name! It's a light, yet buildable (with patience) foundation that will even out your skin-tone with just one pump. If you have oily skin like I do, I recommend carrying around a powder foundation with you to touch up.

Would I repurchase? Yes.

Thanks for stopping by!

The "I Deserve It" Haul

Hi there! I hope life is treating you all well!

Since I've been doing so great with school, I decided to stop by Sephora to reward myself with a product. As usual, I walked out with a lot more than intended. I was hesitant at first, but my husband reminded me that I deserved some treats. Did I ever mention how much I love my supportive husband?

These products were bought almost two weeks ago:

BUXOM | Buxom Stay-There Eye Shadow - Mutt
I don't like the name of the eyeshadow, but I love this shade! It's a beautiful bronzed taupe that's kind of dupable, but the texture makes up for it.

URBAN DECAY | The Vice Palette
I've been debating whether or not I should get this palette when it first came out. I was hesitant since I hardly ever use my other UD palettes, but I took it as a sign when I saw this in person.

Inside:

YVES SAINT LAURENT | Volupte Sheer Candy - 7, Sweet Fig
I'm planning to do a review on this soon, so I won't say anything!

Swatch:

MAYBELLINE | Color Sensational Lipstick - Tenacious Taupe
This was actually bought on a whim, but I'm really happy I purchased this lipstick. It's a nice nude taupe shade that's great for all year round. I think it's limited edition, so be sure to grab one if this is your kind of color!

Swatch:

And that would be it for my haul. Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Gifts

Hello lovelies. Here is a post of what I received for my birthday as requested by a few readers:

From my husband:
This wasn't really a surprise. He took me to Sephora and told me to get whatever I wanted. lol.
LORAC | PRO Palette
I've heard great things about this palette!

LANCOME | Color Design Palette - Taupe Craze
I've been wanting a Lancome palette forever! I was deciding between this palette or the Bronze Amour palette, but opted for Taupe Craze since Bronze Amour seemed more appropriate for the summertime.

NARS | Foreplay Cheek Palette
As if I needed anymore blushes to add to my stash! I couldn't help it... It was too beautiful to pass up.

And a surprise:
I am absolutely in love with this diamond band! It's simple, sophisticated, and perfect! I'm not usually a fan of diamonds, but oh my goodness, I can't begin to describe to you guys what I was feeling when I opened the box. Perfect!
-----------------------------------

My mother-in-law got me a gift certificate (facial & manicure) to my favorite (and only) spa place!

One of my besties surprised me with the first four seasons of The Big Bang Theory. We generally like the same shows, so I can't wait to start watching this when I have time.

My other bestie surprised me with a bunch of goodies she got from four different countries. She's a flight attendant. =)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Frequently Used Products & a Product I've Tossed ~ September, 2012

Hello, everyone! I hope you're all well and healthy. September was a bittersweet month for me, but I can't complain. Here are the products I've enjoyed:

Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation & Make Up For Ever Duo Mat Powder Foundation
I really like these two foundations together. UD Naked Skin foundation feels light on the skin, looks very natural, and blends onto the skin like a dream. MUFE Duo Mat Powder foundation on top makes my skin look flawless! I've noticed that I have to touch up a lot more than usual when using this powder, but I honestly don't care; with the effect that it has on my skin, it's not really that big of a deal.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer & Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Waterproof Concealer
I use these two together as well. I treat the Dream Lumi as a corrector and apply the Tarte product on top as a concealer. Together, they brighten my under-eye area without caking up (which is my usual problem)!

Anastasia Brow Powder Duo - Brunette & Clear Brow Gel
The brow powder duo is a product that keeps on giving! I don't even know how long I've had this product, but it's seriously the only prow powder I'll ever need. I don't ever plan on branching out into other brands.

Clear brow gel is just clear brow gel...

Clinique High Impact mascara & Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler
The mascara is one of my favorites! It doesn't smudge or flake and gives my lashes an extra boost. What more can I ask for?

I usually forget to mention the eyelash curler, but it fits my eye shape perfectly!

MAC Lipstick - Hug Me
This lipstick enhances my natural lip color... And yes, it's another one of those my lips, but better shades that I love so much. It goes with any look, appropriate anywhere and everywhere, and it's usually my first choice when I'm unsure which lipstick to wear for the day.

One Regret:
Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Anti-Chip Top Coat
Seriously one of the most disgusting top coats I've ever used. I've tried to work with it in so many ways, but the thick consistency makes everything so difficult! I don't know why, but I feel so grossed out when I see air bubbles in my polish; It made me feel very uncomfortable when my nails were filled with them after using this product. Anyway, I threw it out!

That would be it for my September favorites & one regret post. I hope you're all having a wonderful day!

Thank you for stopping by.
