{Review} Bite Beauty Luminous Creme Lipsticks

Hey beauties! As most of you know, I took advantage of the Sephora VIB sale (link) & purchased the Bite Beauty - Bite Size Discovery Set of 5. Ms. GummyVision's post (link) was actually the reason why I decided to pick up this set.

This chic compact contains an assortment of nourishing lip products that deliver super antioxidant Resveratrol, which fights free radicals with potent long-term age-repair benefits. Each bite-sized lipstick contains the Resveratrol equivalent of three glasses of red wine.

The packaging reminds me of Altoids!

From left to right: Retsina, Musk, Shiraz, Fig, & Pomegranate

Swatches in the same order:
 - Retsina is a pale nude pink.
 - Musk is a warm pinkish-brown. It's a my lips, but better shade.
 - Shiraz is a warm plum.
 - Fig is a rosy pink.
 - Pomegranate is a juicy red.

Retsina

Musk

Shiraz

Fig

messy lip swatch of Pomegranate

PROS
- I love the variety shades of colors provided in this set
- the lipsticks are very moisturizing
- compact (great to keep in your purse or travel with)

CONS
- bold colors might smudge because of the creamy formula - using a lip liner is recommended

Overall, I think this is a great set to try out if you've ever wanted to try Bite Beauty lipsticks. I ended up buying another set as a gift for my mother-in-law because of the amazing quality.

I believe this set is limited edition, so be sure to get it while you still can!

Thanks for stopping by!

Mini Drugstore Haul - WnW palettes

Hello! I stopped by Walgreens the other day and was so surprised to find these new Wet N Wild limited edition holiday palettes! With only $5 a piece, who could say no to that?
Left palette: Sparkle 'Til Morning
Right palette: Drinking a Glass of Shine (which is exactly the same as the I  Matte palette)

Swatches of Sparkle 'Til Morning:

Swatches of Drinking a Glass of Shine:

When the  Matte first released, I passed because the shades on the left side reminded me of my Sugarpill eyeshadows. This time, I figured I'd get it to make some comparisons & contrasts.

And here we go...
Left to right
- WnW left browbone shade & Sugarpill Tako
- WnW eyelid shade & Sugarpill Midori & Mochi
- WnW crease shade & Sugarpill After Party & Velocity
- WnW definer shade & Sugarpill Poison Plum & 2 AM

I think WnW have great quality eyeshadows. However, the one problem I mainly have with them are fallouts (probably because their eyeshadows are so buttery soft). I usually do my eye makeup before putting on face makeup, so this isn't really a big deal... but I could see how it can get annoying for some people.

Thanks for stopping by! =)

{Review} LORAC Eye Candy Full Face Collection

Hi! I hope you all had a great thanksgiving!

It's that time of the year when most cosmetic companies come out with their holiday sets. Out of all the sets that are out at Sephora, the LORAC Eye Candy Full Face Collection was the set I was most excited for. The packaging is so adorable... I mean, who wouldn't like a great quality box of chocolates for the holidays?!

An exclusive holiday collection of six palettes all infused with ultra rich color and velvety smooth textures for creating the perfect face. This season, satisfy your beauty cravings with LORAC’s Eye Candy Full Face Collection. Even better than a box of chocolates, this deluxe assortment of sweet, tempting treats contains a luxurious selection of fresh colors for eyes, cheeks, and lips that you simply can’t resist. Open the lavish gold box to reveal six faux “chocolate bar” palettes. The Eye Shadow Palettes, Cream Eye Liner Palette, and Cheek and Lip Tint Palette are all infused with ultra rich color and velvety smooth texture for a variety of eye-enticing looks.

This set includes 6 chocolate bars: 4 eyeshadow quads, a cheek/lip quad, and a cream liner quad.

They have chocolate bar-esque names as well: Tantalizing Cocoa, Ohh La La Vanilla, Caramel Love Affair, & Blackberry Truffle Seduction. We'll get started with the eyeshadow palettes first!

Tantalizing Cocoa is described as a bronze eyeshadow palette. It includes a light cream with shimmer, a medium warm bronze, a brown with shimmer, and a deep brown with shimmer.

Ohh La La Vanilla is described as a nude eyeshadow palette. This is my favorite one from the bunch. It includes a light creamy vanilla with shimmer, a darker creamy vanilla with shimmer, warm matte brown, and a warm dark chocolate brown.

Caramel Love Affair is described as golden eyeshadow palette. It includes a light champagne with shimmer, a copper with shimmer, a bronzy brown with shimmer, and a reddish bronze with shimmer.

Blackberry Truffle Seduction is described as a smokey eyeshadow palette. It includes a white with shimmer, a dark plum with shimmer, a dark grey with shimmer, and a matte black (which isn't that pigmented though).

Onto the rest of the palettes...

Indulge in Berry Kisses is the cheek/lip tint palette. Keep in mind that I used q-tips to swatch these, so they might not be as pigmented as they may look. I haven't used them yet, so I can't really review them.

Mesmerizing Dark Chocolate is the cream eyeliner palette. I was so impressed by not only their swatches, but their lasting power. They took forever to remove!

PROS
- packaging is adorable!
- great quality eyeshadows (creamy, soft, & smooth texture - blendable)
- separate palettes make it easy to travel with
- no fallout

CONS
- majority of the eyeshadows are shimmery
- ohh la la vanilla & tantalizing cocoa palettes are somewhat similar

All in all, I am so happy with my purchase! I bought a total of 4 sets (1 for me, 3 for gifts) during the VIB sale and I plan to buy 2 more for Christmas presents! I highly recommend it.

Thanks for stopping by!

{Review} Lancome Color Design 5 Shadow & Liner Palette - Taupe Craze

Hi! Before we get started with the review, I wanted to let you all know that I usually publish scheduled posts over the weekends (because that's usually the only time I have to work on them), so if you don't get a response from me and you see a new post up during the week, I'm not ignoring you! I will most likely get back to you (and visit your blog) on the weekends.

Anyway, here is a review of my Taupe Craze palette by Lancome:
An all-in-one five-shadow palette for brightening the eyes. These alluring palettes feature silky, lustrous, long-wearing powders that transparently wrap the skin resulting in a seamless layering of pure color and a radiant finish. Build with absolute precision and apply the shades in five simple steps (all over, lid, crease, highlighter, and liner) to design your customized eye look. Contour, sculpt, and lift with soft day colors or intensify your look with dramatic evening hues for smoky effects.

Colors include:
- All Over Base (top shade): creamy shade with a hint of shimmer
- Lid (middle left): light taupe with shimmer
- Crease (middle center): warm matte medium brown
- Highlighter (middle right): a light taupe with shimmer
- Liner (bottom shade): dark brown with some glitter

Swatches:

PROS
- pigmented
- easy to blend
- soft & smooth texture
- compact - easy to travel with

CONS
- colors are dupable
- for me, with the exception of the matte brown they're all too shimmery (I like to mix up my finishes)

My Thoughts: I love this palette! It's great for everyday wear and it's one palettes that offer subtle shades for day, yet you can darken it up for night. However, as mentioned, I like to mix my finishes up, so I usually have to pull out another shade (like MAC Brule) for my highlight. Minus points for inconvenience.

All in all, if you want to treat yourself with a nice palette with great quality eyeshadows, then I'd recommend checking out the Lancome Color Design Palettes. However, if you don't care for textures, then pass because a lot of their colors are dupable (especially with this palette).

Thanks so much for stopping by!

{Review} NARS Foreplay Cheek Palette

Hi beauties, I hope life is treating you all well! Here is the review of the NARS Foreplay Cheek Palette I promised last week.

This cheek platte is a deconstruction of NARS' best selling shade: Orgasm. In it, you will find a matte rosy peach (which reminds me of Amour), a matte hot pink, a shimmery golden yellow, and Orgasm itself.

PROS
- compact / easy to travel with
- great way to mix colors

CONS
- depending on the brush, it may be hard to dip into some colors (specifically all shades but Orgasm)
- the texture is a little off than their usual blushes - I find that it sits on skin rather than blend in upon application
- it will require a little work to make it look natural
- expensive for what we actually get

This palette was a lot smaller than I expected. Like I mentioned above, it may be harder to dip into most colors depending on what brush you use. I really like the idea of this palette, but I think it was poorly constructed. Don't get me wrong, I adore these shades and I still use this palette on a regular basis, but that doesn't mean I don't feel ripped off for what I paid ($49)!

If you've always wanted to try Orgasm and don't own any NARS blushes, this palette might be a good choice since you'll be able to mix it up. Otherwise, you're better off buying 2 regular-sized blushes for only $7 more.

And that would be it for my review. Thanks for stopping by!

Sephora VIB Sale

Ok... so I went a little overboard with the VIB 20% Off Sale. It's a great way to stock up on skincare products and finally be able to kill my curiosity of certain products.

If you'd like any swatches or reviews of any of these products, please let me know!

LORAC | Eye Candy Full Face Collection
I got 1 for myself & the 3 for gifts!

BITE BEAUTY | Bite Size Discovery Set
I've been trying to resist these lipsticks for a while now, but it was harder to do so after reading GummyVision's post (link). I told myself I would only get it if I find the set in the store... There was only one left when I arrived, so I guess it was meant to be.

STILA | Seeing Stars Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner Set
I've heard nothing but great things about these liners... Here's to hoping they live up to their hype!

BENEFIT | the POREfessional
I try to stay away from Benefit as much as possible because I think their products are ridiculously overpriced for what they are. After trying a pea-size amount of this primer at Sephora, I figured now was the perfect time to test it out.

BUXOM | Big & Healthy Lip Cream - White Russian
I found this at my local JCP Sephora. I was very surprised because this shade is always sold out!

EYEKO | Skinny Mini Travel-Sized Duo
Also found at my local JCP Sephora. I can never find Eyeko at the other Sephoras, so I didn't hesitate to get this.

SHISEIDO | Eudermine Revitalizing Essence
Back up.

REN | Get Radiant, Glowing Skin in Just 10 Minutes! Set
The only reason why I bought this set was because of Christine (starryeyedbeauty). The fact that she was so impressed with the mask after only using it once was enough for me to know that I needed it. I can't wait to try the whole set!

SHISEIDO | Facial Cotton
Back up.

CLARISONIC | Deep Pore Cleansing Brush Head Duo
Back up.

ORIGINS |  Starting Over Age-Erasing Eye Cream w/ Mimosa
Back up.

BURBERRY | Body perfume
The last thing I want to do is start collecting perfumes, but I loved this scent too much to pass it up. My signature scent is Flowerbomb, but I'm hoping to shift to another scent because I'm starting to feel too old for it.

DOLCE & GABBANA | The One (For Men)
After the cashier gave my husband a sample of this cologne, I felt the need to get it for him because it smelled sooooo good.

Samples.

And a product I didn't purchase from Sephora:
URBAN DECAY | All Nighter XL
Urban Decay is having a sale on these for only $18 (original price is $34). I've always wanted to try this and their sale made it worthwhile.

And that would be it for my haul. Thanks so much for stopping by!

{Review} YSL Volupte Sheer Candy - 07 Sweet Fig

Hello all! Here was a review I promised a few weeks ago. I'm sorry it took so long to deliver, but it's always better late than never, right? =)

YSL Volupte Sheer Candy - Glossy Balm Crystal Color - 07 Sweet Fig

The balm dresses your lips in a sheer veil of brilliant color boosted with vitamin - and antioxidant-rich fruit extract. Its ultra-light, sensual texture leaves lips feeling soft and hydrated for up to eight hours and is ideal for year-round use.

Pros
- very moisturizing
- color is buildable
- easy to apply (no mirror needed)
- luxurious packaging
- nice finish
- texture is super smooth

Cons
- wear of color is very short (1-2 hours at most)
- pricey ($30 a pop)

Neutral
- the fruity scent may be offensive to some people - I don't really care for it

Not a lot of people know this, but I suffer from lip eczema. I have to be careful with what I put on my lips, especially now due to the cold weather. This is the one product I have no problem putting on my lips because it actually soothes my lip eczema! In fact, I count on this product when my lips are feeling aggravated. I haven't found a lot of products that can do this, so it has become very precious to me.

If you want to splurge on something luxurious (and if you don't mind the sheerness), I recommend giving this product a try! It's also a great way to slowly branch out and try different colors since they're so sheer!

Have you tried any of these tinted lip balms from YSL? If so, how do you like them?

Thank you for stopping by!

October Favorites & Empties (2012)

I cannot believe it's already November. This year is going by so quickly and there's only a couple of weeks left before the fall semester is over! Crazy, crazy, crazy.

Here are some of my favorite products from October:
Lancome Color Design Palette - Taupe Crazy & Nars Foreplay Cheek Palette
I have a review coming up for these two products, so I won't say much. I've been enjoying them a lot!

Einstein Lip Therapy
With the cold weather, it's hard for me to use lip products without aggravating my lip eczema. This minty and refreshing lip balm does a great job at soothing it.

Majolica Majorca Lash Expander Frame Plus
This was a gift from the lovely Ms. Carol and it's one of my favorite mascaras! It's a great volumizing mascara that separates my lashes and is so friendly to my thin Asian lashes. Love!

Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Eyeliner - Perversion
This was the one product I was surprised to find in my stash. I found this while I was in the process of clearing out some makeup. I was on a break with eyeliners due to me always ending up looking like a raccoon after a couple of hours, but this baby restored my faith. On me, this liner will stay put all day unless I rub my eye (a really bad habit I need to break) - which would get flakey. Anyway, I've been really pleased with this liquid liner.

Nature's Wick - Bonfire Nights
It's a bit pricey ($20), but the quality of these candles are far more superior than the Bath & Body Works candles. The Bonfire Nights scent is warm and homey - with a tiny touch of woodsy.

Here are the products I've finished/tossed out:
Sephora lip glosses
These lip glosses were beauty insider's birthday perks from a couple of years ago. I never opened them, but didn't want to give them away because they probably expired who knows how long ago.

Aquafina Lip Balm
It was smashed up and melted - I didn't want to bother.

Tend Skin
I'm on my 4th bottle now. This has saved me from a lot of ingrown hairs, so I can't imagine my life without it!

Thanks for stopping by!
