{Review} LORAC Unzipped Palette

Hello there. I hope all is well! While the blogosphere has been singing praises about the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette, I have been keeping myself occupied with a palette I bought a while back: the LORAC Unzipped palette. I can see from the swatches online that they are nothing alike, but I don't know if I can justify buying another palette at the moment. (EDIT: My husband actually surprised me with the Naked 3 palette over the weekend. This is a scheduled post.). At least most of the shades in this palette lean pink...

Swatches:
- Undercover: a cream color with a satin finish
- Unbelievable: a metallic copper
- Unattainable: a metallic gold
- Unconditional: a cool matte brown
- Unbridled: a dark brown with a sheen

- Undiscovered: a shimmery gold
- Unreal: a metallic peach
- Uncensored: a metallic brown
- Unspoken: a matte warm brown
- Untamed: a dark shimmery brown

PROS
- blends easily
- pigmented

CONS
- cardboard packaging

These eyeshadows are so soft and smooth, they blend easily and beautifully. They are also pigmented with minimal fallout - which is an extra plus on my book. My only gripe about it is the cardboard packaging. I guess if I can travel with the original Naked palette, it's probably fine to travel with this palette... We'll see.

Needless to say, I love this palette! It's a beautiful palette with beautiful shades! Although I pulled it out in hopes that it would calm my lemming for the Naked 3 palette, it did something better: reclaimed my love for this palette.

I highly recommend this palette if you are looking for a new shimmery palette. I don't see it available on Sephora's website anymore, but it's available on Ulta's.

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I bought this & then I returned it because I didn't need another neutral palette, but I still want it.. Something's wrong with me haha! Your swatches make me wish I didn't return it too!

    1. Haha. There's nothing wrong with you... I feel the same way. Maybe it's the makeup addiction! We all should create a Makeup Anonymous group and stop this madness... lol.

Anyway, you probably already have similar shades in your collection!

  3. I can't wait to pick up this beauty gem! Although the UD Naked 3 is pretty, I don't think it will go well for me, as I would rather have Lorac Unzipped.

  5. To me, this looks better than Naked 3. While 3 is lovely to look at and some colors are gorgeous, the color payoff isn't that great. I find a lot of the shades look the same once on the lid. And I don't find it to be as versatile, especially when compared to the original Naked. Happy to own it, but even happier that I got it with the VIB coupon. This one looks much more pigmented and the darker browns must make it nicely versatile. :)

  6. Wow these shades are stunning, I'm in love with them! I haven't heard of this Lorac palette before, but it's definitely grabbing my attention- I love the pigmentation of the eyeshadows too :) It's so annoying that these palettes are so hard to get in Australia! Shame that the eyeshadows are housed in a cardboard box though too :(

  7. these shades are gorgeous! and i have almost say, that by looking at the swatches, if you have this, you probably don't need the naked 3. both palettes lean into the pinks and rose golds.
