Three Things Thursday

Hi there, beauties! Here are three things I'm loving at the moment:

I love tea in general, but I've been really enjoying tea from Spice Traders Teas! I always make an effort to stop by their stand whenever I'm at the Renaissance Faire because they have an array of flavors to choose from (and I like to smell their samples before I make my purchase)... Their tea never disappoint!

Sticker Maker
I adore my Xyron sticker maker! This sticker maker allows me to make stickers up to 1.5" wide which fits perfectly in my planner! It's portable and super easy to use. All I do is print onto regular paper, cut the image to 1.5", run it through the cartridge, and voila! - the stickers are made! I also cut scrapbook paper to stick them into my planner as well.

Example (the waterdrops image and the scrapbook paper were made into stickers):
In case you're curious, this is my Erin Condren Life Planner. I have a review here if interested.
**The waterdrop design was created by Janet Grant from We Love EC FB group!

Snail Mail
I simply enjoy sending and receiving mail (not bills, but mail from old friends and pen pals). There's something about it that makes me feel happy and it never fails to brighten up my day! It's the little things! =)

What three things have you been loving recently?

MAC Lip Product Collection

Hello! Today, I will be doing a MAC lip product collection post. As I stated in my last MAC post (link), MAC was the first makeup brand I first got into. I don't really purchase anything from MAC anymore unless I'm really attracted to a product (mainly blushes), but I do really enjoy most of the products that I own.

Here is my final MAC lip product collection! I've sold and given away a lot of lip products in the past.

We'll start off with the lipsticks.

First are my 2 Cremesheen lipsticks. The formula is quite creamy and offers a good pigmentation with a slight shine.
- Ever Hip is a peachy coral.
- Glamourdaze is a plummy red.

Amplified lipsticks provide an opaque coverage. It's similar to a matte finish, only less drying and has a slight sheen.
- Blankety is a pinky nude.
- Warm Me Up is a warm pinky-brown.

The rest of my lipstick collection are lustre finishes... my favorite formula! They're not super pigmented, but they're not sheer either. They provide a nice gloss and shine to the lips.
- Hug Me is a nude brown.
- Syrup is a mauvey-pink.
- Lovin' It is a warm brown.
- Viva Glam Gaga is a light blue-based pink.
- Viva Glam VI is a plummy brown.
- Viva Glam Cyndi is a rosy red.

On my lips:

Next are my Sheen Supreme lipsticks (they're glossy lipsticks) and only lip pencil.

- Whirl (lip liner) is a medium pink with a hint of brown. It's kind of a my lips but better shade.
- Bare Again is a pinky nude.
- Ultra Darling is a pinky-coral.

On my lips:

Onto my lipglasses and only lipgelee. As time went on and I branched out to different brands, I realized I don't like the texture of these. They're very sticky and not very hair friendly (as my hair is always glued to my lips whenever I have these on).

- Florabundance is a pale pinky nude.
- Love Nectar is a sheer peach with golden shimmers.
- Viva Glam VI is a plummy brown with glitter.
- English Accents is a pinky-lavendar. I received this lipgloss from Wendy of Fashionable Heart.
- Viva Glam Cyndi is a coral-red.
- Budding Beauty (lipgelee) is a peach with golden shimmers. It reminds me of Love Nectar.

On my lips:

I only own one cremesheen glass and one tinted lip conditioner.

- Boy Bait is a sheer pinky-nude.
- Gentle Coral (tinted lip conditioner) is exactly what it says it is. I also received this product from from Wendy of Fashionable Heart. I like that it's moisturizing.

On my lips:

Last, but not least are my Kissable Lipcolours. They're liquid lipsticks.

- Woo Me is a nude rose.
- Super is a neutral brown-pink.
- So Vain is a peach.

On my lips:

Do you own any MAC lip products? Which are your favorite finishes? Which shades are your favorites/staples?

{REVIEW} theBalm Meet Matt(e) Nude Palette

Hi beauties! Today, I will be reviewing the Meet Matt(e) Nude palette by theBalm. I never purchase anything from theBalm unless they are on sale or at a discounted price. I found this palette on Hautelook for 50% off last year and of course, took advantage of it. I have a strong weakness for matte eyeshadows, especially when they're available in one palette.

This palette consists of nine beautiful matte eyeshadows. Most of these shades lean a little to the warm side, but they all blend beautifully together.

- Matt Johnson is a slate gray.
- Matt Garcia is a reddish-brown.
- Matt Malloy is a white (it's a little chalky).
- Matt Rosen is a warm medium brown.
- Matt Wood is a deep cool brown.

- Matt Singh is a peachy nude.
- Matt Abdul is a greyish taupe.
- Matt Lombardi is a warm beige.
- Matt Hung is a medium plum taupe.

Out of all the shades, Matt Singh is my favorite! I use it as a transition shade and I love how it warms up the whole look.

- variety of different shades
- pigmentation
- blends beautifully
- smooth
- long-wearing
- thin packaging is easy to travel with

...I can't think of any.

All in all, if you can find this palette for 50% off (keep an eye out on Hautelook, they usually carry theBalm products every few months) and you love matte eyeshadows, this palette would be a very good choice.

Do you own any matte eyeshadow palettes? Which ones are your favorites?

Three Things Thursday

Hello! I wanted to do a new series to stay active with my blog. I'm not sure if I will be able to keep up with it every week, but I will definitely try. As you all can tell by the title, the new series will be "Three Things Thursday." It's similar to "Things I Love Thursdays," but I will only mention three things.

Without further adieu...
Washi Tape
I started using washi tape last year for my planner. I used different patterns to stay on track of different classes for assignment due dates, essay due dates, midterms, and finals. I also used different patterns to keep track of anniversaries, birthdays, and events. Sure, I could have used different colored ink for that, but (1) the washi tape made them stand out and (2) they were easily removable if due dates or events were changed.

There are many wonderful projects you can do with washi tape. I use Pinterest for inspiration... take a look!

Planner Goodies
Labels, stickers, sticky tabs, post-its... you name it! Whenever I'm at Target, I always make an effort to not only stop by the beauty aisle, but the school/office supplies aisle as well. I am more likely to use things when they're cute/beautiful (which is why I purchased the Erin Condren Life Planner - review here), so my planner is usually filled with washi tape and everything you see above.

I haven't played Sudoku since 2010, so when I found this in the back of my bookshelf, I figured I should start challenging myself with puzzles again. It's been great so far! I could be distracted and play Sudoku for hours without realizing what time it is.

What three things have you been loving recently?

Ulta & Sephora Haul

Hello lovelies! I hope life is treating you all well. Today I have a mini Ulta and Sephora haul for you.

I rarely ever go to Ulta, but since the hubby and I were in the area for a gun show, I figured it wouldn't hurt to stop by.
Real Techniques brushes! Before this purchase, I only owned two: the blush brush & the stippling brush. I love them and still use both on a regular basis. I wanted other brushes, but since they were always out of stock, I gave up and forgot about them. So imagine my surprise and excitement when I saw these babies on display after walking into the store! Anyway, I purchased the:
- Expert Face brush
- Powder brush
- Base/Flawless Core Collection

Onto Sephora...
Dior Rosy Glow - Healthy Glow Awakening Blush - 001 Petal
I am a huge sucker for "adjust to your skin's natural chemistry" products. I would always swatch it whenever I'm at Sephora, but then decide against it because of my large blush collection. I'm still not sure why I purchased it, but I'm glad I did. It provides a beautiful light rosy glow to my cheeks.

Shiseido Pureness Balancing Softener
I'm running low of my current one, so I decided to purchase a backup. I like to use this product as a toner.

Bite Agave Lip Mask
I'm really glad I bought into the hype! The texture is thick, so I use it before bedtime. Let me just say... it's super moisturizing! My lips have never felt better!

And that would be it for my haul! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

Hello dearies! When I listed the Urban Decay Naked Basics palette as one of my February favorites, I realized I never posted a review or swatches of it... so that is exactly what I'm doing today.

When this palette first released, I was excited because 5 of the 6 shadows in the palette were matte. And although it was advertised as a companion to the Naked and Naked 2 palettes, I was ecstatic to use it on its own. The palette has a soft rubbery feel that reminds me of the NARS packaging. And the mini-sized packaging is great for travel.

- Venus is a vanilla with a satin finish.
- Foxy is a matte vanilla beige.
- W.O.S is a matte pink beige.
- Naked 2 is a matte light taupe.
- Faint is a matte warm brown.
- Crave is a matte black. I never use this shade.

- travel friendly
- pigmented
- easy to blend
- long wearing

- scent

I probably have dupes somewhere in my collection, but the fact that these shades are all in one palette makes it super convenient. I think it would be a great addition to your collection regardless if you own the Naked palettes or not. You'd be able to create so many different looks from day to night and it's perfect for on the go!

I absolutely adore this palette and would recommend it to all the neutral lovers out there.

MAC Eyeshadow Collection

Hi there! I'm not sure if I ever mentioned this, but MAC Cosmetics was the first makeup brand I got into. My mother-in-law took me to a MAC counter, asked a sales associate to get me color-matched, and purchased my very first foundation and blush. Let's just say... I was hooked on makeup ever since!

When I first started, MAC was the only makeup brand I purchased from. It wasn't until a couple of years later until I visited Sephora for the first time... Since I branched out to different brands, I don't really purchase anything from MAC anymore. Not because I don't like MAC, but because I have a preference for other brands.

Anyway, here is my eyeshadow collection! I also added my only paint pots and pigment since they're eye related.

On me, paint pots tend to crease unless I apply eyeshadow primer beforehand. I use these as bases, but occasionally use Vintage Selection on its own.

Onto the eyeshadows:
Single eyeshadows I have yet to depot!

My old MAC eyeshadow palette. -- some of these shades are my daily staples

MAC Shadows stored in my pink Z-Palette.

Shadowy Lady Quad & Cocomotion pigment

Like every brand, some of these shadows are amazing, some are okay, and some are disappointing. After swatching everything, I can say most of the colored ones are misses - hard texture, not pigmented, and I had to layer them over and over again for the colors to show up on camera. Aside from that, the Matte2 finishes are superb - super pigmented and blends easily!

Do you own any MAC eyeshadows? Which shades are your staples/favorites?

Thanks for stopping by!

Erin Condren - 2014 Life Planner Review

Hey beauties. Today I have a review of the Erin Condren Life Planner for 2014. I mentioned in my last planner review (link) that I didn't plan to purchase one for 2014... However, after a month and a half of using a weekly Moleskine planner, I knew no other planner would do.

For this year, I decided to purchase the gold edition in purple. Gold editions cost an extra $25 than regular life planners, but it's beautiful and I love it!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders - Diffused Light & Dim Light

Hello everyone, I hope all is well! Today, I finally have a review of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders for you all. These powders were one of the most talked about powders in the blogosphere world when they first released. I, not surprising, bought into the hype and I can't say that it was worth it. Anyway, let's get onto the review...

What is it? Create your perfect light. Ambient Lighting Powder is a groundbreaking collection of finishing powders that capture, diffuse, and soften the way light reflects on your skin. Unlike traditional powders, which merely cloak imperfections, Ambient Lighting Powder utilizes photoluminescent technology to filter out harsh light and refine the appearance of the complexion. The powders deliver a multidimensional luminescence to every skintone, making it appear softer, younger, and lit-from-within. The finishing powders enhance skin in any type of light, including flash photography.

Diffused Light: A soft, warm, pale yellow that reduces redness, eliminates shine, and gives skin clarity.
Dim Light: A neutral soft beige that provides a perfect balance of warm and cool tones to blur imperfections.
- amazing texture
- softens my whole makeup look
- makes my skin feel super soft

- my constant need to touch up (it's not advertised for oil control, so I guess I can't say much... but fellow beauties with oily skin beware!)

Overall, I'm on the fence about these powders. I use both powders to set my foundation, but I find myself reaching for Diffused Light a lot more than Dim Light. Not that I prefer one over the other... Dim Light just happens to be in my makeup bag. All in all, I don't think these powders are worth the hype. Although the texture is amazing, I don't find it a necessity for everyday makeup.

If I ever manage to use up some of my powders, I will continue my search for the perfect finishing powder.

Have you tried these Hourglass powders? What do you think of them?
