An exciting purchase & Empties

Hello beauties! Happy New Year!!!! :)

It's been a while and blogging more frequently is one of my new year's resolutions for this year. I know, I know... I do this every year, but I will definitely try to get into the habit of taking pictures every weekend since it's the only time I am able to work on blog posts and have access to natural lighting.

So I decided to spoil myself and made a purchase last night. I've been wanting to purchase something from this brand for over a year now, but I couldn't justify buying yet again another perfume. Because I haven't been really satisfied with any of my perfumes lately, I decided to solve my problem by getting new one. Well... new ones.
Jo Malone - Wood Sage & Sea Salt and Peony & Blush Suede
There were so many scents to choose from, but these two were the ones that stuck out to me the most! I knew I wanted Peony & Blush Suede immediately after smelling it, but after my husband suggested trying the Wood Sage & Sea Salt... I fell in love and knew I found my everyday scent! I'm horrible at describing scents, so here's a description from the Nordstrom website:

Wood Sage & Sea Salt: "Alive with the mineral scent of the rugged cliffs, the cologne blends woody earthiness with sage and the sea, conjuring images of breaking waves, and the air fresh with sea salt and spray."

Peony & Blush Suede: "a charming mix of peonies, red apple, jasmine, rose and gillyflower, all mingling with a sensual blush suede."

That was pretty much my exciting purchase!

Now onto the empties:
Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette - Not exactly an empty, but it's gone bad. I mainly used it to spot conceal and cover redness, but I don't know if I ever plan to repurchase. I haven't found a concealer that I really like just yet.

Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Repair Eye Serum - This was a generous sample that lasted over a month! I don't really know how I feel about it because for me, an eye cream is just an eye cream. I haven't found an "effective" eye cream yet.

Eminence - Stone Crop Whip Moisturizer - There are only two pictured here, but I finished a lot more than that since my last empties post; my husband threw them out because he had no idea I was saving them on the side for pictures. Needless to say, I love this stuff!

Onto old images that were taken over a month ago:
Lip glosses from MAC & NARS - Over the years, I've learned that I do not like to use lipglosses... period. I dislike the feel of them and I rather just stick with lipsticks. Anyway, I plan to Back2Mac the MAC lipglosses.

Eyeko Skinny Liquid Liner - I haven't been too fond of liners lately, but the Eyeko liquid liner is great. It stays on and easy to use.

Burberry Body perfume - This was a 2 oz perfume I purchased from Sephora during a VIB sale. I really enjoyed this perfume, but I don't plan to repurchase it until I use up a lot of my other ones.

Shiseido Pureness Balancing Softener -  I'm currently almost done with another one of these. I've been using the pureness line since I was in high school and I find that this toner balances my oily skin. Love!

Liners, brow wax, & lip sticks from the Smashbox Photo Op Mega Palette (see image below) - They have been sitting in the palette forever and have never really been used. I decided to depot them and toss them out to be safe. I've only used the eyeshadows & blushes from the palette, so there's not much I can say about these items. I'm am thinking about depotting everything else and putting them into a large magnetic palette though. We'll see...

Thanks for stopping by! :)

  1. I still have Jo Malone on my wishlist. It's been over two years, but I just can't take that step yet. But that just means I'll adore it even more once I do finally suck it up and say goodbye to my money for one of the glorious scents! ;) My favorite is the English Pear and Freesia. So good! I'll have to smell the two you got next time!
